For the past few months, I have been looking for ways to motivate myself as a stay at home mom. In many ways I feel that I am pulled in many other directions. I took some time out last week end to see the movie Julie & Julia. I think that it has encouraged me to look at life as more of a challenge. In some ways I have felt like I might be lacking in some domestic skills, so what better to motivate yourself, than to try something new.

So here it …

The mission:

The quest to becoming the ultimate domestic diva. The challenges include: learning to cook health meals that 3 picky kids will eat, basic sewing, decorating, and organizations skills, and entertainment coordinator. This is a big task, but I am up for the challenge…
The obstacle…
Time: with 4 busy schedules, softball, dance football games. How to organize myself enough to find balance and inner peace, without permanently damaging everyone in the process.
Budget: Darn you Dave Ramsy… we have a love/ hate relationship.

The unwilling participants…

Mason age 2.7
likes to play out side and tormit dogs.
learning to potty train. Thinks that McDonald's is "his friends house"

McKenzie age:8
loves art, cheerleading and softball. Hates cleaning her room.

Morgan age:15
Busy school and social calander.

Darling Hubby age: old enough
Trying to find his own balance between work and family.
Loves all sports.

Wish me luck!

Garden Plans

I have been thinking about planting a Fall Garden. For the past two summers the kids have planted a garden in the early spring, but with this Texas Heat, and lack of rain, it hasn’t done very well.

We are predicted to have a “wet fall” here in San Antonio, so I thought that maybe I would try to plant a fall garden. Does anyone have any suggestions what to plant? I have thought of heirloom tomatoes, but wasn’t sure if that was just for the summer. I am a woman on a mission…

As a stay at home mom, I occasionally feel overwhelmed, and restless.
One day I was sitting in church and someone was talking about a friend of theirs had rededicated themselves and was trying out new life groups in church, so I started thinking... Maybe that is what I need to do, rededicate myself to being a Stay at Home Mom.

This is where you come in: Tell me how you stay motivated at home. Decorating, cooking, cleaning out, or even a girls night out. Tell me what has worked for you in a post, and add your name to the Mr. Linky.

I love the fall

I love the fall and all it brings with it. It is always a great relief from this Texas heat, when the cool air arrives and and the leaves start their glorious show before they fall to the ground.

I love the the splashes of colors from the mums and pumpkins that greet you at the front doors
